Looking for the big five in Queen Elizabeth National Park at the equator and exploring the Rwenzori foothills up to 2400m is epic. You will be exposed to the Jungle and scenery as you have always dreamt of all your life.  It is a dreamlike adventure in the jungle. Trailing the big five, watching the multitudes of birds, and seeing the cats in action in the savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth national park.

Through this trip, you award yourself with three different game drives in the famous Kasenyi plains, Mweya Penisular, and a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel.  Marvel the wetlands, savannah, forests, and waters to view some of the largest herds of Elephants, Buffalos, and birds.

On the mountainside, you will climb the Rwenzori foothills up to 2400m in one overnight trek in the community reserve located beside the National Park. On your way to Murchison falls national park, you will be walking the forests, meeting the communities and spending time with the chimps in Budongo forest. From Kampala, spend your first night with the community  traditional huts at Boomu womens campsite. Participate in selected cultural activities or touring the village to share their way of life. Boomu campsite is located 500 m before the access gate to Kaniyo pabidi, a home to chimpanzees and other primates, birds, butterflies and a rich plants life. Here you will participate in forest walks as you look for primates, mammals and other wildlife common in this forest.

At the top of the Murchison falls you will witness a crevasse of 8 meter gorge swallowing the entire river Nile. View the Nile from different angles to satisfy your love for nature. The next day is reserved for a safari in which you will be trailing the game studying animal spoors. Common sight is Uganda Kob, Giraffe, Elephant, Lion, Harte beest, Oribi or other savannah and woodland birds.  After the game drive, take the chance to cruise on the river Nile to see the animals at close range in a paradise of the Crocodiles and Hippo. On your way back to Kampala, you may choose to track the rhinos in the Ziwa rhino sanctuary.

Description:

Three days trip with one full day of wildlife wonders in one of Uganda preferred National Park. You will be looking for animals both on land and on water. It involves one boat cruise, a game drive and a list of cultural encounters to select from. Queen Elizabeth National Park is the second largest and oldest park of Uganda. It is a landscape of natural wonders with a range of habitat including wetlands, forests, water bodies, Savannah, forests and a rich cultural heritage. The park is home to over 90 mammal species including the famous tree climbing lions in Ishasha, up to ten primate species, and 600 bird species of which a good number are endemic. The park offers very high opportunity of finding migratory birds on their journey to and from Europe. If you choose to visit lake Munyanyange next to Lake Edward in Katwe, you May have a chance to find flamingos in certain seasons of the year.  Queen Elizabeth is also human biosphere giving guests an opportunity to witness local communities living with wildlife in and outside the park.

Day 1: Today, arrive to your hotel in queen Elizabeth National park, from the previous location. On arrival, check in the hotel and proceed to the Kazinga channel boat cruise to witness the large herds of wildlife in the jungle on the two hours journey. On the cruise, you will be looking for an assortment of water and land animals in Queen Elizabeth national park. Common site is hippos, elephants, waterbuck, Nile crocodile, buffalo and a range of birds. After the cruise, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight at the elephant home.

Day 2: You will take breakfast at 6:00am and join the guide to participate in the safari drive on the Kasenyi tracks in the northern sector of the park. You should preferably reach there when the cats are still in action. We will be looking for the pride of lions. Lions are commonly trailed by the hyenas during the hunt. The game drive will go on up to 10:00am. At day break, we will look for other games including Buffalo, elephants, Uganda cobs, water-bucks, warthogs and other mainly congregated in large and small herds. Return to lunch, after which you have chances of participating in the community experiences. Options include; the salt mining tour, the crater lakes tour, the village walk, traditional dance performance. After the evening activity, you may choose to take a short evening game drive before you return to dinner and overnight.

A day off out of Kampala is an opportunity to explore the whispers of the wild in Lake Mburo National Park, the wildlife sanctuary that is located 239km west of Kampala, the capital of Uganda.

Lake Mburo National Park is home to a variety of wildlife and there has been  introduction of giraffes. You will take the pleasure to explore the memorable experience of looking for wildlife on safari, boat cruise, bicycle or horseback ride, making it the closest you can be to wild animals of all Savannah parks in Uganda. On this three days trip, the memorable sundowner, boat safari on the chain of 14 lakes, trek to Kazuma and Kigarama hills. You will be looking for wildlife such as Orib, zebra, impalas, Topi, Eland, reedbuck, Leopard and many others on the list of approximately 70 mammal species that await you. Explore the extended wetland habitat stretching up to 50km that supports a chain of ecosystems.

Day 1: Kampala – Lake Mburo: Drive from Kampala stopping at the equator for memorable moments as you take coffee, buy souvenirs or pictures at the center of the globe. Arrive at Lake Mburo National Park in the afternoon. You will spend the night in one of the scenic lodges located on the hills overlooking Lake Mburo plains. On arrival check in for dinner and overnight at Eagles nest. Todays optional activities include the cow watering experience, a visit to Igongo museum, the community traditional dance or relaxing as you take the beautiful views from the lodge Terrance.

Day 2: wildlife safaris: Early morning breakfast and head to the park gate to start the morning game drive. Meet the ranger guide and drive to the park office as you look for herds of game grazing in the jungles. Start the game drive of your choice that may be horseback riding, cycling, walking or driving as you spot the Zebra, Giraffe and many of the 350 bird species in this park. After several hours with the game, head to the dock to participate in the boat cruise to explore the water ecosystem. Common site during the boat will be hippos, Otter, fish eagles, kingfishers and other mammal cooling off on the edges. With the help of a ranger guide, you will endlessly spot the unique wildlife in this park. After the two hours of the boat cruise, return to lunch on the lakeside restaurant.  After lunch is good time to drive to Kazuma look out. Where you will take the panoramic view of Lake Mburo landscape as you watch  the sunset and then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: In the morning, take a relaxed breakfast as you take the memorable views of the sunrise over Lake Mburo, from the lodge. Enjoy the cold breeze as you say bye to this beautiful locale. Transfer to the next destination or Return to Kampala.
