Overview:

A visit to the primates in their natural home. You will be surrounded by the magical crater lakes area. and taking the opportunity to visit Sempaya, the biggest hot spring in one of the oldest forests in Uganda, extending to the Congo basin. You will be visiting the two richest forest Habitats in Uganda; Kibale forest and Semuliki forests. Kibale National Park is home to the largest populations of chimps in east Africa. You will spend a few hours looking for the chimps in the forest. The crater lakes tours and a visit to t Sempaya hot springs make a great combination on this three days trip to the Albertine rift of western Uganda.

  • Day 1: Kampala – Semuliki wildlife reserve

    After breakfast, depart from Kampala hotel to western Uganda. You will drive through Mubende-Fort portal road. Enjoy the view of roadside forests, food markets, and local trades showcasing life in Uganda. Have lunch at Garden restaurant in fort portal and proceed to Semuliki National Park.  we will check in at Semuliki UWA bandas and stretch as we walk for one hour to Sempaya hot springs. During the walk, we will be looking for chances of spotting wildlife such as birds, monkeys, and interesting plant life. After spending a relaxed time at the hot spring, return to dinner and overnight.
  • Day 2: Semuliki – Kibale National Park

    This morning, wake up to the safari in the pristine tracks of the Semuliki wildlife reserve. The animals we will be looking for include; Kobs, warthogs, buffalo, waterbuck, crocodiles, Elephants, pigmy hippos, Leopard, bush babies, and a list of 441 pieces of birds. On return take a late breakfast and embark on the forest walk to explore the forest habitat including the visit to the Batwa community to learn their survival tricks in the forest amidst all wildlife. We will retire to lunch and then check out to transfer to Kibale National Park for dinner and overnight at Tinka's homestay.
  • Day 3: Explore Kibale National Park

    After an early breakfast, head to Kanyanju to start the morning chimp tracking tour. After the briefing, you will seek the chimps in the forest to find the chosen group. You will stay for about one hour with the chimps as you learn their behavior. It is an opportunity to compare the truth of them being the closest relative to humans by 98%. After enough time with the chimps, return to the visitor information center then to Bigodi for a traditional lunch. This afternoon, you will choose to take one community tour. Options include a crater lakes tour, bigodi village experience, or the community swamp walk. Return to dinner and overnight at Tinka's homestay.
  • Day 4:Kibale Kampala

    Early breakfast and transfer to Kampala through Kamwenge Masaka road.  Several stopovers to take the relaxed views of the country including the grand stop at the equator where you have a chance to take memorable pictures, buy gifts and take a coffee. Afterwards, head to the hotel or flight in Entebbe, marking the end of the trip
