This is how to book Ruboni Village activities
Ugandan Tour operators: most tour operators in Uganda. Contact the Association of Uganda Tour operators. They have an office in kampala. Other line tourism private sector institutions such as Exclusive Sustainable Tour Operators Association (ESTOA) can also me helpful when it comes to Booking and visiting Ruboni village. Kasese Tourism Investors forum: through their website, Kasese Tourism Investors forum (KATIF) is the central contact and regulator of tourism players in Kasese district where Ruboni village is found. If you contact KATIF through their website, your booking will be well managed.
Ruboni Tourism village initiative: Ruboni Village can also be booked direct, through their contacts or mobile application on their website.
Community visitors centre: If you’re already in Ruboni village, you can walk in to the Community visitors centre to place your booking of any activity or accommodation. While at the community visitors centre you also have a chance to find a clean bathroom (toilet), do shopping of handicrafts, attend the traditional dances, buy local lunch or take a drink from the local bar in the centre.

What is the difference between activities inside the park and activities outside the park?
The activities outside the park don’t require any park entrance fee to participate in them, while the activities inside the park require park entrance gate to participate in them.
The activities inside the park are entirely nature and landscapes while the activities outside the community outside the park have a great component of nature, landscapes and culture
Inside the park, you have higher chances of finding animals such as birds, primates, forest elephants, Forest Duiker, and others while in the community you have very low chances of finding wild animals save for the birds. On the village walk, you will find only domestic animals and no wild animals at all. On the forest walk, you have good chances of finding animals and insects, such as the three horned chameleons, birds, primates, and snakes.
On the community walks, you will be shown around by the local community members while on the activities inside the park, you will be shown around by the park ranger but you may also choose to go with the community member as an additional guide.

How do you get to Ruboni village from fort portal or Kasese town?
Ruboni village is located in Ibanda-Kyanya Town Council at Mihunga park gate of Rwenzori mountains national park. It is this gate that leads to the central circuit and snow peaks of Rwenzori mountains. To get to Ruboni village you will pass through either Fort-Portal town on the north of Kasese town on the south. Ruboni is located 26-28 km from Kasese town or 80km from Fort-Portal town.
Coming from Fort-Portal, drive 65km south on Kasese road. The key land marks you should look for are Hima cement factory at 57km or River Mubuku at 64km. after crossing River Mubuku, drive for one km south and branch off left at Nkenda electric terminal, on Nyakalengijo road. On Nyakalengijo road, you will drive for up to 18km based on the lodge you have booked. It is a straight drive towards the park gate.
Coming from Kasese town to Ruboni village is easier. You will drive for 10km north on for portal road. Branch off right at Nkenda Electric terminal on Nyakalengijo road. On Nyakalengijo road, you will drive for up to 18km based on the lodge you have booked. It is a straight drive towards the park gate.
What transport is available to and from Ruboni Village?
When travelling to Ruboni, private transport is ideal. However, we have easy transport to Rwenzori and Ruboni. If you’re using public from anywhere to Kasese town, the village has organized shared car transport that has to be booked at least one day before. This transport starts only from Kasese town. For those willing can jump on a Bodaboda from the Delta stake in Kasese town and you will be brought to the village without a problem interested in booking shared car transport, please read more here
Payment options in Ruboni village
All tourism services and activities in Ruboni are not cash only. You have options of cashless to pay with. These include; credit card payment, MTN mobile money, and Airtel money.
It is important to note that, the village doeant have any forest exchange services or ATM card access. The nearest ATM machine is in Kasese Town (26km away). Foregn exchange can be accessed in any of the banks in Kasese town. You will need to present your identification documents to change any money in the bank.
