Day 1: Kampala to Ruboni

Depart early in the morning from Kampala (preferably by 7:00 am) and head to Kasese via the Mubende road. Arrive in Fort Portal in time for lunch and dine at a chosen venue within the town. If undecided yet, the Garden Restaurant, strategically located opposite Mpanga Market, offers a delightful option.

After lunch, journey to the Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru experience on Bundibugyo road. Here, you will partake in a forest walk by the waterfalls. Nestled amidst lush landscapes, it is a hidden gem: Amabere ga Nyina Mwiru. Venture into this mystical realm, where nature weaves its enchanting tapestry within a rock cave adorned with stalagmites and stalactites. These formations hold a secret that transcends mere geological wonder – resembling breasts, crowned with droplets of a milky substance that trickle down like tears of the earth.

After the walk, transfer to Ruboni village and arrive for dinner in the evening. Tents will be pitched for you, allowing you to retire straight to bed after dinner. Optional activities include a campfire accompanied by music, which can be provided upon request.

Day 2: Queen Elizabeth Safari

Following an early breakfast, proceed to Katwe salt mines. En route, drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoying the picturesque landscapes, lakes, and wildlife sightings.

At Katwe, engage in a salt mining tour to learn how this ancient tradition persists despite modern technology, with local women and men mining salt with their bare hands. After lunch in Katwe, head to Kiwa heritage, the hot springs in Kasese municipality on Kilembe road. Spend time soaking in the springs before returning to Ruboni village late afternoon for dinner and overnight stay. This evening, you have options of participating in a traditional dance event within the village.

Day 3: Rwenzori Trekking

Today, embark on a trek to the first camp (Nyabithaba) of the Rwenzori Mountains. Commencing at 7:00 am after breakfast, trek from the Mihunga park gate to Nyabithaba camp. The altitude at the gate is approximately 1646m. Upon arrival at Nyabithaba, around 2632m, relax before returning to the gate. Enjoy lunch at the community center before beginning the journey back to Kampala via Fort Portal.
