You will be taking an 1800km road trip around Uganda while exploring landscapes, wildlife, and cultures. Discover how the people relate to the unbeatable natural beauty of Uganda. It is a lifetime adventure that takes through the central, southwest, north, and eastern regions of Uganda. Experience Kampala city life then head to Bunyonyi, arguably one of the deepest and most scenic lakes in Africa. You will then move to explore the Rwenzori Mountains on your way to the crater lakes around the famous chimpanzee forest, as the wonders of the Nile and wildlife in Murchison falls await you. The trip is full of memorable moments in Uganda’s most pristine landscape in Kidepo, the glorious waterfalls at Sipi, Mount Elgon foothills. You also have an option of rafting on the source of the Nile; the longest river in the world, as you head back to Entebbe.

  • Day 1-Entebbe - Kampala

    You will be picked up from Entebbe airport by our driver. Enjoy the drive through the lakeshore town of Entebbe. Be welcomed by the sites of the arts, local life in the towns, the lake views, roadside market displays, and the Uganda traditional architectural designs. Enjoy the greenery landscape sparkling with happy faces of one of the most hospitable population in Africa. Dinner and overnight in Kampala Forest cottages.
  • Day 3-Kampala – Bunyonyi:

    Early morning breakfast then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. The 8-hour journey takes through Mbarara- Kabale road with several stopovers for picture moments and relaxation. At the equator, Igongo museum and great lakes museum with scenic viewpoints. Arrive in the late afternoon at the lake then transfer by boat to Bushara island camp for dinner and overnight.
  • Day 3- Explore lake Bunyonyi:

    Today is reserved to explore Lake Bunyonyi. Wake up early morning to participate in the self-guided bird walk around the island looking for the little birds (“bunyonyi”) during the walk; you also have a chance to take views of the sunrise over the lake offering memorable pictures moments. Return to breakfast. Options for the rest of the day include; the canoe tour, the Batwa and other cultural tours, visiting the local market, or fishing tour to catch crayfish.
  • Day 4- Bunyonyi – Rwenzori Mountains:

    Early breakfast and then transfer to the Rwenzori foothills. We will drive through Kabale, reaching Queen Elizabeth National Park, giving chances of spotting a good number of wild animals in the open savannah. Cross the Kazinga channel and the equator then continue for 48km north. You will be welcomed in the Mubuku valley to spend the night below the portal peaks with great views of the Rwenzori Mountains, at Ruboni community camp.
  • Day 5: Rwenzori mountains:

    Spend a day exploring the Rwenzori foothills. You will wake up to an early breakfast and choose one of the memorable walks around the village. Options include the forest walk, hill trek, village walk, or nature walking inside Rwenzori Mountains National Park. On any walk of choice, the culture is rich and nature is intense. Passing through the coffee and banana farms around homesteads, on your way to the forests, you will be looking for unique wildlife such as chameleons, birds, primates. On the cultural walks, meet the four different households as they take you through their traditional livelihoods of farming, basket making, traditional storytelling as a form of education or blacksmithing. Return to lunch after a good moment on the walk. This evening, you will attend the local traditional festival with traditional music, dances, and drinks while you mix with the locals as one of hem. Retire to dinner and overnight.
  • Day 6- Rwenzori mountains – Crater lakes area:

    Early morning breakfast and transfer to the crater lakes area. The route takes about two hours through fort portal road. Branch off at Rwimi and arrive at Lake Nkuruba in the mid-morning. On arrival, take the crater lakes tour. Other optional tours include canoe tours, forest tours or the walk to the top of the world.
  • Day 7- Kibale National Park:

    Wake up early morning to participate in the chimp tracking experience, inside Kibale National Park. Other options of the day include Bigodi swamp walk, forest walks in the park, canoe tour fishing on Lake Nyabikere, or bicycle tours in the crater lakes area. In the evening, return for dinner and overnight at Lake Nkuruba nature reserve
  • Day 8 Kibale – Murchison Falls:

    Early breakfast and transfer to Masindi through Hoima. Arriving at dinner and overnight at Boomu women’s campsite at the Murchison falls National Park gate, next to Budongo forest. Today, we have an option of participating in the cooking tour as you make your dinner for tonight.
  • Day 9 wildlife safari in Murchison falls National Park:

    Early morning breakfast, enter the park then head to the ferry crossing to the Nile delta for the memorable safari. On the safari, you will be looking for a range of game including Orib, giraffe, buffalos, warthogs, elephants, antelopes, and other small mammals. With a game ranger, you may choose to take game walks looking for the animal spoors and interpretation from the ranger. Return in the mid-morning and join the boat cruise on the Nile at 11:00 am. On the boat cruise, you will have a chance to look at wildlife at close range as they line up cooling off on the edge of the Nile. Common site includes; Nile crocodiles, Hippos, buffalo, waterbucks, Elephants, assorted birds. After viewing the magnificent Murchison falls at close range from the boat, return to dinner and overnight at Boomu bandas.
  • Day 10-Murchison falls – Kidepo:

    Today, you will cross the Nile at Karuma falls then drive north through the relatively flat and remote Ugandan countryside. You will have several stopover points for snacks. Preferably, carry some packed snacks to minimize relying on roadside eats.  You may stop to grab cooked snacks or stop for lunch at Gulu town then proceed to Karenga via Kitgum for dinner and overnight at Buffalo base. No pictures allowed at Karuma but the views are quite rewarding.
  • Day 11-Kidepo Valley National Park:

    Today you have a full day of exploring Kidepo Valley National park in a series of activities including game drives, nature and cultural walks, hot springs visit mixed with relaxing moments to enjoy the unique scenery of the landscape. Start with an early morning breakfast and packed lunch before you start the game drives and walks. Head to the hot springs via the palm trees lined along Kidepo River, in search for Ostriches and leopards, tortoises along the way. You may choose to participate in the guided nature walk, mountain trekking to visit the Ik tribe chiefdom. Here you will participate in their dances and other cultural activities. Return to your hotel later in the day.
  • Day 12- Kidepo – Sipi falls:

    After breakfast, take a game drive on the way out to Sipi. On the way make some stopovers until you reach the picturesque home of waterfalls sitting on the foot of Mount Elgon. You will arrive Sipi in the late afternoon, a good time to unwind on the verandah as you watch the waterfalls fading away in the dusk. Dinner and overnight at Rafiki Lodge
  • Day 13 Explore Sipi waterfalls area:

    Today you will be exploring the Sipi area. After breakfast, meet the local guide to take you on the three-water falls walk. Walk in the rustic village full of picture moments overlooking the plains below Mount Elgon, the colorful birds, mineral rocks, and the sight of the waters ramming 100 meters down the cliff. Take the moments of going behind the water walls to discover the secret residences of some birds in these caves.  After the waterfalls walk, you will participate in the traditional coffee experience. Other options of the day include; rock climbing, abseiling 100 meters by the main waterfall. Retire to dinner and overnight at Rafiki lodge.
  • Day 14 Sipi falls – Jinja: Take an early breakfast and transfer to Jinja. Reach Jinja in good time to start rafting for a half or full-day. While in Jinja, other optional activities include visiting the source of the Nile, horseback riding, cycling in the extended villages, kayaking, and tubing on the Nile, or relaxing by the Nile the rest of the day. Dinner and overnight in jinja.
  • Day 15 Jinja – Entebbe:

    Today morning take a tour of Jinja town looking to buy some gifts. Transfer to Entebbe through Kampala. The journey takes past Mabira forest, Kampala city where you may have a chance to make several stopovers before reaching Entebbe where the trip ends. Dinner and overnight at Entebbe backpackers’ hostel
